Certified Fertility Specialist (6-Month Program)

The primary objective of this IVF training program is to focus on reproductive medicine, endocrinology, endoscopy, and related fields. Our goal is to enable Obstetrician-Gynaecologists with the knowledge, appropriate skills needed to manage and treat the increasing incidences of sub-fertility and infertility. This includes addressing the needs of sub-fertile and infertile couples in metro (Tier-1), non-metro (Tier-2), and rural (Tier-3 and beyond) settings through medical interventions, assisted reproductive technologies (ART) such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), reproductive endocrinology, and fertility-enhancing surgeries.

Qualification:

  • Participants must be a citizen of India.

  • Hold an MBBS Degree from a University established by law in India, recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and/or declared as equivalent.

OR

  • A resident Indian participant with foreign medical qualification must appear, pass the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE), complete an internship, and register with a State Medical Council (SMC) per applicable regulations.

AND

  • Hold a DGO + Secondary DNB / Primary DNB / M.D. / M.S. (or its equivalent recognized degree) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology [Ob-Gyn; O&G; OG; Obs; Gynae & OB/GYN] from a university established by law in India, recognized by the NMC, or any other with a foreign medical qualification recognized by the NMC and/or declared as equivalent.

Content:

  • Applied, Basic & Clinical Sciences:

  1. Infertile couple with female factor

  2. Infertile couple with male factor

  3. Couple with decreased gamete reserves to be offered donor gamete or donor embryo program

  4. Third Party Reproduction and its ethical & legal issues

  • Endometrial Receptivity Assay

  • Ethical principles in Assisted Reproductive Technology [ART]

  • Genetic history and counselling

  • Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis

  • Pre-implantation genetic screening

  • Reproductive Endocrinology [RE]

Eligibility: 

  • Successful completion of an online examination, and personal interview with assigned fertility specialist.

  • The training program will be subject to the availability of seats in one of the two batches, i.e., March/April (Virtual classes scheduled on every Thursday starting around UTC+05:30 or between IST 2:00 pm) and October/November (Virtual classes scheduled on every Wednesday starting around UTC+05:30 or IST 2:00 pm) each year.

Exit Exam: The training program exit examination consists of two stages: Theory and Practical Examinations

To complete the program, participants must score a minimum of 50% in aggregate, which means participants need to achieve a total of 100 marks out of 200 marks (combined marks from Theory & Practical) in the Exit Exam.
